Outdoor Sports Are More Healthy Than The Destructive Video Games

It was back in the early nineties when the rebellious kids of the neighborhood used to roam around in the streets with their roller skates or cycles. Many of the parents of current junior school children will perhaps remember their days on the roller skate wheels. That was the time of Atari or early video games which couldn’t keep them at home for long. And eventually, the wishes of all the parents who wanted their child at home were fulfilled as the video games became more 3d, exciting, advetourous and as a result more violent. Somehow, these violence stricken games were so exciting that they rapidly became an addiction more than a hobby. And now the consequences are becoming apparent as the kids are becoming less physically active, spending endless hours ruining their vision, spines and even morals in front of the fast paced video game screens.

It is high time for parents to understand the cons of this indoor activity and the importance of more physical activities for today’s homebound kids. It is what the parents can sow into their children in their early ages so the kids will find it hard to stick to the gaming chair. There are still a numerous outdoor activities that just need a little revival to get the kids back in the neighborhood. Here is a list of few top healthy activities.

Skating

Skateboards or blades, skating has always been great fun. It can still fill up the enthusiasm of action and adventure seeking teens. With the right safety equipment, you will know that your children are much safer with the wheels under their foot rather than the joysticks in their hands.

Cycling

Cycling is one of the advantageous outdoor activities for all ages essentially for kids in their early years. It enhances the development of muscles and bones and also improves the strenght. Although little kids do risk some injuries during their learning period but the training wheels and other safety equipments can help avoid such mishaps. The little kidss can learn a lot more from getting up and trying again than they can from using cheat codes to counter such hurdles in video games.

Basketball

There are many video games featuring the NBA players, but to show your kids the real taste of the Basketball game you will need to let them play with the ball. NBA sportsmen are some of the tallest sportsmen in the world. As much as the genetics is responsible for that, the sport’s tricks and techniques also have a good role in it. A miniature basketball field is a good start for the kids who are in developing ages.

Football

Most of the football stars have learned more in their early ages of street football before being discovered and polished as national players. A sports like this requires full body and mind usage and for the young teens action couldn’t be more advantageous than this. Parents should support your kids to play more of this game outdoors, instead playing or watching it indoors.

Board Games

Not much of an outdoor activity but board games have significant benefits over the Video games. First of all, they require you to use more of your brain cells rather than the mindless key presses. Although both video games and board gamers regard themselves as whiz kids, the intellectual energies of board game players are more directed toward goodwill as compared to the video gamers who find it amusing to hit a passerby or steal a car from cops.

If the parents are determined to be more strictly in charge, they can have their kids enjoy equally fun but less harmful activities. The choices are loads more than listed above but the point is that it really is a high time to make a choice.
