How To Make Sure That Your Ward Stays Safe In The Playground
If you are concerned about being too much troubled over leaving your kids in a playing area, then you shouldn’t be to because it is a sign of your good parenthood. It is useful to be careful about your childs recreational time equally as you are about their school and nap time.Children are curious and children are mischievous, they have a very good tendency of learning from their own mistakes. But sometimes these slip-ups can be a little more harmful. Whether it is a toddler falling from a mini bicycle or a teen slipping over his first inline skates or a high school kid slipping out of control on his roller hockey skates, kids will always be kids and they will always need your watchful eye. With little precautions, you can be sure of your children’s safety in any recreational activity they are involved in. There are some playground safety rules that both you and your ward shall follow:
• First of all, thing to keep in mind about playground safety is that whatever the age, any kid tends to get very reckless in efforts to show off his talents. Adult watch is always required, be it you or be it someone else assigned for this reason, make sure that your kids are always being looked after by an adult who can not only watch for any danger your child might be heading towards but also offer an urgent first aid in case of any mishap.
• If your child is going for ride or skating, look out for complete safety equipments. The most important of all safety gears is the helmet but it is also vital that the knees and elbows are also properly covered. The shoes should also be comfortable enough and without strings to avoid tripping accidents.
• A lot of possible danger can be minimized by the kind of surfaces in the playground. Whether it is a playground at your own house or at your child’s school or the one in nearby neighborhood, make sure that there are no rough and edgy surfaces around. The ground surface should be soft enough to cushion a child if he falls. Hard concrete and even natural terrians can be quite risky for this purpose as the water fills and small pits can cause the child to trip. The best option is to loosely fill the ground surface with sand, gravel, wood chips and rubber shreds.
• Next thing to keep in mind is whether or not the playground is suitable for your child’s age. Little kids of age 5-8 can find the play structures for teens quite fun and thrilling but there is no chance you should let them play there. Ensure that the structures are not too high for your child and there are no such openings where a child can get his head or finger trapped.
• Last but not least, instruct your children to behave nicely and follow all the rules in playground. Tell them to be competitive without being aggressive. There should be no pushingor any kind of wild act in the playground. They must be told not eat while they are at the playground and not to put there messy hands in their mouths even if they don’t look so messy.
