The art of yoga first originate in India. A country whose culture and history is as rich and divers as the oldest countries in the world. It is also the country where Buddhism originated, which by they way is the fourth largest religious denomination in the world today behind the big three. After all these years, yoga has survived so you just know that the Indians have invented something truly useful. Maybe it is because Buddha himself practiced it? Or should I say, started it.
So here's a meditation technique that was established by a god. What does that mean? Well, if you are Buddhist, it means a lot. But if you are just a plain practitioner, it just adds to its glorious history. But in the past, yoga positions differed greatly from those used today. In the beginning of its history, perhaps the only position was the lotus position. If you can imagine Buddha sitting cross legged, then you have just pictured in your mind the lotus position.
