Hockey 101: The Fundamentals Of Hockey Game

Hockey sports began from England in the 1600'S. Back then, hockey was thought as risky sports that may involve the entire village people against other adjacent village teams involving of hundreds of players. During those times, hockey players would commit major injuries and would play for days prior to the game is concluded. And now, hockey has developed into another type of sports, safer and so much more enjoyable to try out.

For each hockey competition, an oval shaped ice rink is the simplest requirement. Ice rinks for hockey are either non-natural or natural made. Pucks, skates, and hockey sticks are other essential hockey equipment. To ensure the protection of each player, goalie masks, gloves, helmets and padding would give enough protection to players.

Ancient hockey players would lay blades on their puts to play hockey. Today, skates for hockey players with permanent blades attached to them are now available. Hockey sticks that were crafted from woods in the past were now crafted from supplies like carbon and Kevlar. This power sticks presents a more powerful and precise shots compared to wood sticks.

The next necessary gear considered necessary for hockey game is the helmet. Hockey helmets are required in keeping your head safe all throughout the sport. Receiving hit around the head with a puck could result to severe brain damage. Prevention of brain damage is the very reason why players are encouraged to wear hockey helmet during game and while training.

Hockey gloves will salvage your hands from intense cold, the puck and the wayward sticks. Being hit in your hand might cause wrist or finger fracture which is awfully no fun the least bit. Shoulder pads shield each hockey player's shoulders from the blow of every player against collision. It protects each hockey player from possible shoulder disarticulation.

In North America and Canada as well as some European countries, the ice hockey is widely held game. It is also a well-liked Olympic game. In 1924, hockey was initially played in Olympics and the United States were the first country to bag gold in the battle.
