A historic view of World Series History

Baseball World Series Championship is an annual event for the championship title for the preceding Major League Baseball season. The two best teams from each division, the American and National leagues. Phillies Tickets are always available from season ticket holders. World Series of Baseball is for sure the premier historic sporting events in the USA, the first game was in 1903. In its 108 years of competition, The World Series Champiosnhip has had many Major League Baseball franchises win far more titles than the rest.

For Example, The Oakland Athletics, who also played in Philadelphia and Kansas City, have the 3rd most Championship titles in history. The A's have appeared in the Baseball Championship as the AL representative 15 times and have won the title 9 times. The Oakland A's recently took home the prize in 1989 when they were led by Jose Conseco and Rickey Henderson. The teams most successful World Series run was started in 1972 and ended in 1974 when they won three consecutive World Series titles. The teams during this time relied heavily on outfielder Reggie - Mr October - Jackson and Hall of Fame Pitchers {Catfish Hunter and Vida Blue|Vida Blue and Catfish Hunter.

The New York Yankees, who are also in the American League, have played in the World Series Championship 41 Times and have walked away with the title 27 times. Both the Oakland A's and NY Yankees have taken home the more times than any other team in Major League Baseball history. The Yankees have been an incredibly successful team the franchises history, their best run during an incredible 45 year stretch from between 1920 and 1964. In this period of time the Blue and White Pin Stripes went to the World Series a record 29 times and won the Championship 20. During this time, many of the most acclaimed baseball players of all time played for the Yankees, including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Mickey Mantle. The Yankees last won the World Series in 2009 when they were led by A Rod and Jeter.

Closest to the NY Yankees, the most accomplished team in World Series history is the St Louis Cardinals. The St Louis Cardinals, who compete in the National League, have made it to the World Series 17 times and have won the title 10 times. The Cardinals most recently won the World Series in 2006 when they were led by first basemen Albert Pujols. The Cardinals had an impressive run of wins between 1926 and 1934 when they went to the series 5 times winning 3. World Series is incredible and during the years 1942 and 1946 St Louis Cardinals took home an additional 3 titles as they were led by Hall of Famer Stan Musial. Can the Cardinals do it again against the Rangers in 2011?
